The Trinity Hotel & Restaurant
Reviews
My fiance and I decided to get away for the weekend here in Carlsbad. We didn't know where to eat and were looking at reviews and spots. When we first entered we were unaware you needed reservations to get a table. The manager was nice and and very helpful plus offered a seat at the bar and explained things to us. The bar was nice and very clean. It did not have that bar stench. Silverware and glasses were clean and covered at times. We both had the rib-eye steaks with veggies. The staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was calm. The manager even came back to us and asked how everything was. Had great customer service and would reccomend to any couple wanting a nice dining experience and food. I would give this a 5 star but I did not observe the hotel rooms. But overall it does deserve a 5 star alone for the dining!
Comfortable night's rest. Romantic, cozy and clean. Stayed in room 205 and had a wonderful, hot waterfall shower. I highly recommend getting a bottle of local wine downstairs when you check in. I am leaving the restaurant review to my husband as he was underwhelmed by that part of our experience.
My wife and I stayed here last night (11/28). I agree with her, it was a wonderful, romantic getaway. (However I think they are priced about $100 too high) And we had a fantastic bottle of Gewurztraminer. She said I have to do the breakfast review, so here goes. :) Given the reviews, I was expecting just a little more. While it was nice, her french toast and my hash browns and eggs dish was nothing out of the ordinary. As guests, we also had choice of some complimentary items. I wanted to try a cinnamon roll, but they were already out..at 830am. So, I made a choice from the regular menu. When our food was delivered, the runner put my meal in front of my wife, dumping the salsa on her. I know it was not on purpose, but his response and actions were sadly lacking any feeling of "sorry". Our waitress was more apologetic, but did nothing else. Overall, I enjoyed the stay, but given the reviews and price, it could have been better.
Quick and simple. Pros: -Awesome beer options from local microbrews -Comfortable atmosphere -Friendly (and attractive) wait staff (I'm a young dude, even though I'm not looking it is better to have someone decent looking and close to my age) -Coffee is always good (I drink Lattes) Cons: -Food is cheaply made with pre-made ingredients (food quality has gone down recently, maybe a chef change? Not sure) -Seating is close and sometimes awkwardly laid out -Wait staff can be very immature and inexperienced at times (really does vary though, there are some awesome servers here) The biggest downside really for me is the food. Price is average, and in other categories I quite like the place. However, as a self-declared food critic I have to say the quality of food is my primary concern, as I can manage cheaply made dishes on my own well enough.
Best food in town by far. Service is great, polite and friendly. Even the owner seats you and walks around and asks how your meal is. Dale and his wife have created a little Gem in the Desert.
