High Finance Restaurant

Will go with 3 stars here... The reason is the view was spectacular and the service was very good...the company was even better ;-). I will give the GM some credit as he took the freezer burnt shrimp from the wedge salad off our bill and said that was not acceptable and was apologetic. We didn't approach him, he was walking around asking and checking on his customers. I had the filet.. was good... not great for the 31 dollar price tag....wine seems priced fairly. I would go again based on how the GM is working to improve things. We learned he has only been here a month and working to improve!
I went in after hiking up the mountain hoping for a drop of water to quench my deep thirst. Jokes! I took the tram but, still, I wanted to enjoy what this watering hold had to offer. The plan was to get a snack and a drink or two but when I saw the price for something as simple as a hummus plate, I decided to forego nourishment and focus on what's really important. And, still, I paid $7 for a beer! What kind of place to these people think they're running-a major league ballpark!? This mediocre establishment with an off-putting name looks like it has been neglected. It's not that the place is run down but that you won't find that it's as luxurious as a similarly priced establishment elsewhere. However, if you walked out of the early 1980s, you likely won't be too discouraged (except by the prices). The place thinks it can charge for the view. The problem is that most diners won't even have access to said view. Long short, just bring your own beers up (in cans as the forest service doesn't allow glass outside). You'll be happier (and more buzzed) fi you do.
We traveled from Tulsa OK to celebrate my niece's15th birthday and we had the worst experience ever, only the view was a value for the money. The food was subpar at best and that's being generous. I'm trying to find a compliment but nothing comes to my mind. The service staff and management are obviously used to serving concession food for skiers they don't know how to talk to tables and very condescending. Come and visit sandia peak but never dine in the high finance restaurant.
Came for Lunch. Service staff were friendly. Appetizers and Sandwiches delicious. Kid's menu was great and the kid's loved it! I would come back.
Come for the view not the food. Ordered the portobello stack and had to send it back because it was nearly floating in sauce. We ordered an entree to split and were charged an extra $4 for them to separate it onto two plates. We were not aware and we're not told this would be the case. Luckily we avoided this because we sent food back. Last time I'm eating here.
