Bien Shur Restaurant

Bien Shur, I would like to tell you that I had a horrible experience dining at Bien Shur. My date, a diamond member and I had dinner at Bien Shur on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. I have heard wonderful things about the Bien Shur restaurant, yet, I was extremely disappointed with our meal. We ordered the calamari, which came out of a Sysco box. The calamari was awful. I wanted the shrimp dish, but I did not want the pasta or the tomato. I wanted a vegetable instead. Our waitress, Kathleen, could not give me the shrimp dish, so I had to order the shrimp appetizer. Our waitress wanted to know how many shrimp did I want and how did I want it prepared. I got 3 shrimp and I was not impressed. I ordered a Cesar salad and it was fair, only fair. My date got the scallops and they were delicious. The chili onion rings were tasteless and again, they came from a Sysco box. We ordered the eclairs, which looked beautiful and tasted awful. I came home and added chocolate and brandy to the eclairs and they were delicious. My date spent $100 that evening on food and we both thought it was one of the worst meals we have ever had. He or I will ever eat at Bien Shur again, as it was one of the worst dining experiences. We are both extremely disappointed in the meal. The scenery is magnificent, and I just wish our meal had been exceptional. The food was fair at best, nothing to write home about. I will tell everyone what a lousy dinner I had at Bien Shur.

Aweful, aweful, aweful. I went for my Christmas birthday 12/25/12. We arrived at 6pm and was out the door at 6:55pm. The service was horrific. The food was ok, however my steak was not cooked as requested. Send it back, I dare you. Who knows what would have happened. The food arrived approx. 5 mins after we ordered. So what does that mean, it was already prepared though it was hot. The watress never presented the dessert tray to us, however she did ask" Do yall want anything else?" Where was the professionalism. Not at Bein Shur. I will never go back. Expensive doesn't mean quality and it was surly lacking.

Great location, the food has improved, beware of watered down drinks however. This was the 3rd time eating here and we ate in the bar. The food was a lot better than the last time we ate there. Beautiful city view comfortable chairs. They seem to be understaffed though as it has always taken a long time to get the server to come by and to get your order. Two major complaints though. I drink bourbon and know it well, I ordered my two regulars straight, Maker's Mark and Basil Hayden. both were cut significantly. I told the server who immediately took the Basil Hayden back to the bar and brought a new glass"from a freshly opened bottle" it was still cut. Complaint 2 - Cigar and cigarette smoking is allowed which I don't mind if there is air movement but it just hangs and really gets a bit overwhelming when you have a whole table smoking next to you. Also, they keep the windows closed which, if they were opened, would probably have helped.

The music from the neighboring bar we very loud. Waited one hour for appetizers, another 40 minutes for entrees. Dirty plates were left on the table for far too long. The food quality is good but for the price should have been better. As we were leaving I stopped on the restroom to find dried vomit on the wall in the stall and someone had recently vomited in the sink. The bar ruins the restaurant.

Went to dinner with my wife and some friends at Bien Shur. The appetizer my wife ordered (crab cakes) was cold and tasted spoiled. My appetizer (Ahi Tuna) looked like cat food, and wasn't Ahi Tuna, but a cheap substitute. Main course, my wife had ordered the prime rib, which arrived at the table cold. The waiter said he'd get her a new one, but the same one came back a few minutes later (recognized by the piece she had cut off). It was warmer, but now tougher than leather. The waiter claimed they had dipped the meat in the sauce for a while (!) but clearly they had put it in the microwave. As a result, in addition to not having an appetizer, my wife didn't have a main course. I did eat my main course, though it was over seasoned, but the experience was ruined. They took my wife's food off the bill, but I still ended up paying over $50 for a meal that essentially without enjoyment. Don't bother with Bien Shur, unless you want to be shure to have a bad experience.
