So, I laugh at these 1 star reviews. This place is a gem. Aside from the great atmosphere they have some of the best authentic Afghani Naan I have ever had. The food is amazing, the prices are reasonable, the portions are great, and the staff is wonderful.
Food - lamb chunks - nicely seasoned, large chunks of meat - rice with orange and almonds - tasty, but pretty sweet when I was hoping for a savory rice Ambiance - Nice, light music in athe bacground - Homey, traditional decor and trinkets everywhere Service - fine
Fresh, excellent food.
Really good food and service. Never had Afghanistan food before but I really enjoyed it! I wish it wasn't so expensive; I would come more often. I recommend the Shir Chai drink.
just taking a moment here to write an honest review regarding silk road. my wife's family are persian and we are all suckers for afghan food- my favorite type of cuisine. when my wife and i read the reviews from this place, we decided that when her family came from Canada we'd treat them to this place. the day finally arrived and we put on our sunday best and took the 40 min trek from north jersey.the portions were disappointing, the quality was honestly worse than most afghan restaurants, but the positive is that the staff were very friendly. this was my first and last trip. i just expected more from you guys, silk road people, i really did.
