Wow! Affordable fine dining with exquisite food and top notch service!! The food is phenomenal, I tried many of the signature dishes and they are all outstanding. My favorites are all of the salads, the oysters and lobster roll, the Chicken pot pie is to die for!! The owner and Chef even joined us for awhile to explain the food and recipes as well as the fascinating history of the inn. The wait staff is phenomenal, imagine never having to ask for anything because your waiter has already anticipated your every need. This is the place to go if you want to impress someone like a date or a business contact. The atmosphere is amazing, outside you can dine in the garden or near the waterfall, inside you are surrounded by amazing paintings and murals. I highly recommend this Inn for fine dining at a very reasonable price. Whatever you do, make sure you save room for their awesome desserts!!
This is an historic Inn and rather expensive, so we were disappointed in several ways with the stay. First, the room was very warm when we arrived because the window AC was turned off. It was 90 degress outside and above 80 in the room. There was no hair dryer, the TV was from the 60's (about the size of a computer screen), and when we went to check out at 9 am the next morning, the reception area was locked and our "good bye" consisted of leaving the key in a key drop. I understand there is new management trying to fix the place up. I hope this feedback gets to them so that they can improve the experience for future guests.
A great romantic setting, on the night we were there they had live music and char-broiled steaks. The steaks were cooked to perfection, they're was a great wine list with reasonably priced choices and we had a great apple crisp with lemon cornbread topping. I highly recommend it!
I had my Wedding here two years ago and I'm still stung by the Event Coordinator, her attitude and actions on our Wedding Day. I'm not sure why, but she was INCREDIBLY pushy about wanting things her way and NOT caring about the bride. I'm talking about things like my husband walking down the isle with his mother, a mother son dance, formal introductions and table numbers, all things we didn't want. It took three people to tell her this and to back off! I should of changed the location when she didn't return my calls a month prior to the wedding and would not let us rehearse. She disappeared on our wedding day too and forgot about our miniature desserts also. The bartenders and wait staff were more than extremely accommodating and exceptional. Perhaps its good that The Stockton Inn is no longer doing weddings.
the stockton inn is a unique turn of the century hotel dining room. seeing the fresco's make the trip well worthwhile.
