The Farm Bar and Grille
Reviews
Decent place to watch a game but the beer selection is not the great. The food was also limited and not that great. The prices were good and the service was great. The bar for some reason was loaded with kids although it was early (6 PM) on a Saturday. I won’t be going back but other may and do seem to like it.
I came once for wings with some friends. Shortly after I took my fiancée for dinner there. The wings are this places only redeeming quality. When we arrived we were told a ten minute wait but ended up sitting for closer to thirty. We finally get seated and they take our drink orders. Probably took them a solid half our to bring us a water and a beer....on top of that the beer was flat. Meals get ordered and once more we play the waiting game. I get the side salad that is supposed to come with my meal. I began to wonder if they store their vegetables in the artic circle as the tomatoes in my salad were frozen. After quite some time the waitress informs me they don't have any more haddock but will substitute with shrimp. I thought that might not be bad up until our food arrived. Not only with the steak I had horribly undercooked but the shrimp on my plate had no flavor. My fiancée's had flavor...they tasted like bleach. We informed the waitress so that the kitchen staff could know they had shrimp that tasted like bleach. Despite the fact that they did not charge for the salad and charged me for haddock, not shrimp, I remain exceptionally disappointed with this restaurant. Not only that but eating there also seemed to have the profound effect of intestinal issues. Absolutely awful.
The bbq pulled pork sandwich was awesome! Big enough for two people. Really good food.
It was not busy but had to wait to be seated and to be greeted at table. To be expected when the server is the hostess. She was nice though and food did not take too long to come out. Entire menu is overpriced. I'm not 100% on this but I believe the menu description of the burgers states that the buns were from a (local?) bakery. They were not. Definitely from a grocery store 2 for $4 bag. And not big/strong enough for the actual beef and toppings in the burger. Beside the buns, the food was really tasty and mostly hot. So... it was OK but it will not be our go to place.
The Farm had been our go-to place when we wanted to celebrate. It's like Applebees but more expensive. Our latest trip will be our last. They have an $8 cocktail menu, we both ordered the same drink, which was listed as having 3 different types of alcohol in it. The drink had anywhere from 0%-1% total alcohol volume. I drink alcohol about once a month, I think I would be able to tell. I finished the whole thing in about 2 minutes thinking maybe I was wrong. Nope, I just chugged an $8 fruit juice. I have never complained at a restaurant, and it killed me to do so. Bringing up the issue to the waitress, she insisted "It definitely has alcohol in it". Telling her a second time that I was upset she said "Just get a beer next time." She offered to get the manager. The manager, an early 20's female, or maybe she's still in high school, gave me the same spiel. "Order a beer next time." "There are 3 different alcohols in it." "You have to drink two to get a buzz." I held my ground expecting them to do SOMETHING for us, half off the drinks, a free drink, some money off our mediocre meals (I won't get into those...) Even after telling her we won't be returning after this event, she didn't give the slightest care. That shows you how much they care about customers, no wonder why this place is always empty. Stay away from this place, seriously. It's not even worth going into all the wrong things about this restaurant, it will probably be out of business soon.
