Comfort Food, reasonable prices, good service, plentiful portions, very tasty. Had the roast beef dinner with squash and pickled beets, hubby had the roast turkey with mashed and squash. Also had the broccoli soup delicious. Our bill for 2 meals with a cup of soup, side salad, coke came to $30. BTW we are not old-timers and we still love to come here and have been for years. Booths and tables along the river side. Banquettes for privacy and cozy on the other. Homemade desserts and lots of great ice cream choices and full bar. I have never had the seafood there but go with comfort foods and you won't go wrong.

One reviewer said the food was bland. To define bland, I will tell you how I believe they made seafood chowder - take left over broiled seafood and poor hot milk over it – done! My wife and I shared the fried platter with clams, shrimp, haddock, and scallops. Can’t define this as bland because the seafood does have taste. My wife said she loved haddock - one piece 1 ½ inch square. The remainder was popcorn shrimp; huge portion of scallops (too much of a good thing), and fried clams which were fresh. When the waitress returns quickly you know something is wrong. The seafood was probably sitting around all day. The absolute worst was the baked potato. It was burnt around the edges and an inch and half in diameter. The view from the dining room was beautiful – we took pictures.

I agree with Meghan. I went up there this past weekend for the first time in ages and was very disappointed Just an observation... 7 reviews for a total of 21 stars averages to 3..... not 3.7

The food is bland . Every thing can be cooked by a microwave or a fryer
