Excellent food menu selection from appetizers to main menu. The jalapeño bottle caps are a great starter for any meal just have a cold beer ready to down them. Staff is always friendly with 2 of my favorite bartenders, Shane and Eric. They know my beer taste and are always helpful in having me try new beers from the NC mountain region. Bring an appetite and thirst for beer! You will also enjoy the atmosphere with a nice size outdoor deck.
Eat here on a weekly basis at lunch, as it is walking distance to work. Food is wonderful. Always consistent. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Boondocks has the best burger in town.
Excellent food. A large casual menu and a small dining menu, including some of the best steaks in Ashe county. The larger room is very noisy, with several televisions going, a long friendly bar and hard walls. Have not dined in the smaller room since it was renovated; hopefully it will be more quiet. The selection of beer (and wine) is outstanding, including a lot of beers on tap. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and faster than the other fine dining establishment in West Jefferson. I would give Boondocks five stars (especially in a small town like West Jefferson) if it weren't so noisy.

If "craft beer" is mentioned alongside locations description, im sold. Only "one" brewed on tap at my visit's time, totally worth it! Great grub to munch on while enjoying the fluids.
