Crooked Door Coffee House
Reviews
Great atmosphere and great service and management. Probably the best place in Marion.
Great coffee and atmosphere. Very friendly people. Love the old building.
Great atmosphere and iced Americano was great.
Jt. Marshall gave a review that is almost like mine so I'll keep it short and sweet. Over the winter our internet went out and because I use a VOIP I couldn't call Verizon from home so I packed up my laptop and my 8 year old daughter and drove to the Crooked Door for internet access. I went upstairs, ordered $10 in drinks and sat down. Because of inclement weather my daughter and I were the only ones there. I started to make a phone call when the owner came over and asked me and my daughter to leave. He said, "No phone calls" and then pointed to this little sign at the entrance above the door. He said if I wanted to make calls I had to be in the foyer. The foyer has no where to sit, no tables, no room. I can't juggle all my stuff and make a phone call! I told him he was being ridiculous and no other patrons were there and it was an emergency. I followed it with, "I just purchased $10 in coffee, brought my daughter and now you're basically telling me to leave?" He seemed to slightly understand but his body language was clear. He allowed me to make a call and told me to be very quiet, go far back of the cafe at the fireplace. I went back in and made the call but left immediately after. The whole time I was on with Verizon my daughter was saying, "Daddy are we going to be arrested?" "I don't like it here can we leave?" I too dumped my coffees but didn't leave a tip. I'll never go back.
Can someone suggest another location for coffee in Marion? I'm visiting from out of town and have been unable to find any other coffe shops.
