The Wagon Wheel is the exclusively family-style restaurant in Ekalaka, contrasted by its boisterous bar & grill neighbor, the Old Stand. They start serving breakfast at 6 AM most every day and at prices you simply wont believe. (I expected the calendar to still be on 1967. In fact, they even had the same floral print plastic plates I remember as a kid.) During the summer of 2008, a strip steak and eggs was a whopping $4.50. And done to perfection, too! Coffee is a sort of self-serve affair, and its not uncommon for folks to walk the pot around to neighboring tables themselves. Real cream is to be had next door at the grocery store, and the Wagon Wheel folks don't mind if you bring it in.
