Rustic Inn Cafe

Confusing system for check-in. Hostess was frazzled and had too much to do - she even had to ring up purchases for the gift shop next door. Our server was distracted and not very helpful. Food was average. Atmosphere wasn't anything to write home about. Odd smell and uncomfortable.

Had some of the most excellent meatloaf and walleye cakes I have ever tasted. The pie was as good as pie can get as well. It also doesn't hurt they have kegs tapped from Castle Danger Brewery, who makes a stout unlike any other. Highly recommended.

Was told they were not serving breakfast only to have the next two groups seated after us offered and server from the breakfast menu... No Service!

Four of us attempted to have dinner here but left after poor treatment from the hostess. She seated us under a ceiling fan blowing a heavy stream of air (altho outside temperature was 62F) and refused to turn off the fan because it was cafe procedure to have it running and also refused to seat us at another table because the remaining tables were all designated for two people and she wouldn't reset them even tho they are the same size as the tables for four. We live in the area and have eaten here a number of times but will never come back.

Holy cow food is amazing, flavourful, great atmosphere and presentation. You are paying for quality not quantity FYI. Chocolate made there, AMAZING!! Stop in its worth it! Service could have been better, I think they were short handed.
