We came in on a Saturday afternoon with our two young daughters for lunch. The service was slow and awkward and instead of taking all of our orders at once they ran around behind the counter like chickens with their heads cut off. They only took two of our orders and I had to interrupt them to place my order. They also had no soup left at all. They brought out the sandwiches one at a time and with 5 minutes between each plate so my daughters were sitting there finished eating before my husband and I even got our food. My roast beef panini came with mayo, which I can't stand, even though it said nothing about mayo on the menu and they didn't ask what I wanted for sides and brought GMO pretzels. My pickle slice looked like someone had taken a bite out of it before they plated it. I went over to the bakery side while I waited for my food and nothing looked even close to appetizing. I peeked at their bread ingredients and every single one contained shortening aka hydrogenated soybean oil, among other disgusting ingredients. We will not return and if you think this is the best bakery in the state you obviously haven't been to many bakeries.

This is an old-fashioned downtown bakery and cafe, a great place to hole up on a rainy day or to meet an old friend. It is cozy.
Everything from their donuts and danishes to their lunch counter is amazing. Best quality of baked goods we've ever had and we will always buy from here vs. grocery store or anywhere else. Best bakery ever!!
Wow! Came to Red Wing on business today. Wanted a coffee and saw this place. Ended up with lunch and took home a box of doughnuts. Hands down best bakery I have ever been to.
