I have yet to find a chinese Buffet in eastern South Dakota and Western Minnesota that surpasses this buffet, which is open under the name "New Country of Pipestone and I've been to almost all of them. " It's opened every day except Monday. Best time to go is at 11:15AM and again at 4:30PM like any chinese buffet. The lady who is the current owner and is usually there when I go is very sociable. Expect a warm welcome and some conversation if you want it. The other employees are generally quiet and go about their business. It's just delicious, and always warm when I go. Prices are average for the lunch buffet, and slightly above average for the afternoon buffet, but they have really good breaded deep fried fish, I swear Wisconsin fish fry caliber every time I've gone for the afternoon (4:30PM or later) buffet, with plenty of tartar sauce, which makes it worth it for me. :) Everything is always warm, flavorful, moist, tender, juicy... hard to explain what makes the flavors of darn near every item they have head and tails above the other buffets in this region.... they just are... like a fine wine or cigar.. worth a visit for any serious chinese fan who lives within 100 miles because 'really' good chinese can be hard to find in this part of the country. Seating is somewhat limited but I've never had every table full when I've gone there. Suggested improvements: ice cream and milk.. but I don't go there for that.
I was very impressed with the food it was excellant as well as the service the owner was very polite an i would reccomend this place to everyone you wont be disappointed
An unexepected treasure. The food is AMAZING! The workers are very sweet. The atmosphere is a little off, but to me, that's to be expected in a small town. Best Chinese food I've had in Minnesota. Take out is very generous and the buffet is just as good.
Food and selection is always good.
