Big Island Grille & Bar
Reviews
I spent about a week at the attached hotel in 2011 and had ample opportunities to sample the breakfast bar and luncheon bar. I was well satisfied with both. The breakfast bar had at least two kinds of fresh, whole fruit which you do not always find at a hotel/motel breakfast bar. Everything was very good quality and freshness. Dinners were ample, and you should really ask for the doggie bag with the meal because you are going to take home a lot of food! Several fish options on the menu, all of them good.
Friendly staff but seemed fairly empty. We started here over the Green Mill because it looked more interesting (local joint wise) - but the menu left a lot to be desired. Not many healthier options, the salads were pretty standard/basic, no veggie burger options, etc. We looked up the Green Mill menu online and decided to eat there instead, and the food was fantastic.
The place was pretty slow when I was here so the service was naturally pretty quick. The servers were friendly and the food was good. The only complaint I have is the burger I ordered ( the big island ) had really bad over- processed cheese on it but, that's hard to avoid out here
When we first walked in we were exited that we chose this place. We like soup and salad bars so that's one of the reasons we went here and we showed up about 35 minutes to 11:00pm and the soup and salad bar was closed! I ordered the chicken alfredo and it was such a small portion that I had to order taco bell on the way home. just kidding but I was not full at the end of my meal.
Awesome atmosphere, really outdoorsy! Great food, too!
