It is great for what it is. A family friendly bar with chilli dogs and a bit of history.
Family friendly restaurant meets bar. Good size menu but nothing new or exciting, except pretzel rolls, they are always delicious! I've had three things, all were good but nothing fancy, perfect place to cure a hangover! - Turkey Pretzel Club, Smoked turkey breast, bacon and Swiss cheese, served on a warm pretzel roll with our house-made Honey-Dijon sauce. 8.69 - California Reuben, Smoked turkey breast, Swiss cheese, house-made slaw and thousand Island dressing on grilled marble rye. 7.99 - Nacho Supreme, A heaping plate of our house-made tortilla chips, piled high with melted jack and cheddar cheeses, seasoned ground beef, refried beans, tomatoes, black olives, jalapenos and onions. Served with fresh authentic Pico de Gallo and real sour cream. 8.99 Half order. 6.99
It's a nice, family friendly restaurant, the food is pretty good and the prices are extremely reasonable. On the downside, it is very loud and busy quite often. The service is about average, even when it is busy. And while the food tastes pretty good, they don't have much of a variety on their menu. This place has some good and some bad overall.
Nasty Hot dog chilly and soggy buns ! I don't know why they are known for them.
Several years ago my nephew from California wanted to get his name on the "Hot Dog Hall of Fame Wall" so I told him I'd go too . I had to choke down 12 of some of the worst tasting chilli sauce added to the Corner Bar's normally excellent hot dogs! I told my nephew that if he finished his 12 (which he couldn't get past 8) that I'd go for 20 and take one for the family since we had a 8 of us there for lunch. I haven't been back since except to get a couple of beers. Love the atmosphere but Yesterdog is far superior for a good chilli dog!
