Mountain Town Station Brewing

After a 50+ minute wait, told 30 and it was busy, sat down to a booth; clean table, very sticky floor. Waitress was good, took our orders, brought drinks and bread. Our four meals arrived, after two other orders taken after ours had arrived at their tables. Three meals were warm, one was cold and had to be sent back. My prime wrap was warm and over cooked, outside area like jerky. The brisket melt was warm, plain with "melted cheese". The cheese was a big lump in the center that had begun to get hard. The worst one was the cool butterfly coconut shrimp and ice cold potatoes. It was a busy night, but a good restaurant does busy well. This was not.
walked in last night and was ignored by both young people at front counter. finally young girl acknowledged me and lead me to a dirty table where she proceeded to lay the menu down and wipe food from the last patron off the table with her finger. I asked her to seat me at a clean table, then noticed that at least 5 others were also dirty while employees stood around talking. she got a dirty rag and wiped the table and booth seat off, leaving both soaking wet. I asked for a dry rag, she brought one and swiped at the seat twice, obviously perturbed that I asked for this minimum of sanitary service. she made it clear that my presence (and money) was not worth the effort of providing a clean area to eat. I left and proceeded to The Italian Oven, where I was treated to excellent service, food, and drink. I left a generous tip.
So exspensive that only the well off can aford it. If the prices weren't so high I think a lot more pepole would enjoy it and would come into dine more often or just come in for drinks.
I love having a microbrewery right here in town. The Mt. Pleasant Brewing company always has interesting and delicious brews. Unfortunately the food here is not usually up to par. Bar food (fried stuff) is fine, but the dining menu is not well executed and is far too pricey for the quality. It's too bad: with the great location (old train station) and good beer, this is a place I would love to add to my regular round of restaurants, but the kitchen really needs to make significant improvements.
This is the place I bring out-of-town guests. It has local color, is interesting, and the food is really good. Wait staff here are very professional, the menu changes on a regular basis so it doesn't get boring, and the food is consistently top notch.
