We love the Harbor Cafe and have eaten here for years. The food is always good, and we especially love their specials (like home cooked meals), fish chowder, pies, muffins and the Friday Night Fish Fry.
My husband and i went for breakfast on a Monday. While the blueberry pancakes were wonderful - his omlet was plain - without seasoning. The service was only okay and as we have experienced quite a bit on this island, the waitress was rude and unpleasant. Our 2nd cup of coffee was asked for twice. The waitress insisted that she was not the "drinks person" and that is why we waited so long for a refill. While we are tourists, and not locals, i would think that people would be so much friendlier in a town like this. It was upsetting and unnerving to say the least. We will not return.
Great food; wonderful local atmosphere and service was very good. I spent 7 days in Stonington, ate here often and was never disappointed.
