Portland Marriott at Sable Oaks
Reviews
Best and most convenient hotel in Portland. The staff is always superb and I am there on business so time and accommodation are very important. I recommend this hotel highly.
Noisy, greasy desks, rude staff, unreliable, small rooms.... DO STAY HERE BEFORE ANYTHING IMPORTANT: Weddings, business, test, etc.!!!!! The staff at this Marriott cannot be trusted to provide you with a quiet room (and will not care). I rented out a block of rooms and spoke with staff about the need for a good night's rest before one of the most important days of my life. They not only gave me a very noisy room, took my money (over $1000 with no genuine apology), but seemed to take everything with a grain of salt, just sort of laughing it off. (The front desk staff didn't seem mentally present and were full of giggles in a way typical of drug addicts.) Other than that, the room was small and desks were greasy. The front desk line is sometimes NOT first come first serve. Instead, it's old and white first serve. As a young racial minority businessman, I was set aside, while the old white people got checked in. This is what gives Maine a bad name. Oh, and when it's busy, they have their janitorial staff drive the shuttle. My driver got lost and didn't speak very good English. I think they have the same janitorial staff handle noise complaints inadequately. Not funny for the guests.
wireless is very slow and drop out a lot in the room
