I live in Oklahoma but have relatives in Hartland whom I visit as often as possible. I never pass up an opportunity to dine at the Sunrise when I'm in the area. The restaurant is clean, the waitresses are very friendly and efficient, the food is always hot and mmmm delicious! Try their Wild Blueberry Pancakes. As they say here, they're to die for. And, their baked goods are second to none! I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant. I would recommend it to everyone!! DGG
I went there with a friend last year. The dessert (ice-cream) was gritty and gummy. I complained and the waitress said nothing. Absolutely nothing. Going out, there was no apology or even a coupon to make up for it and I paid full price. What's worse, this same friend tripped over a mat on their floor going in. She was hurt, falling forward, twisting her foot and landing on her hip and chest. She needed help getting up and waited several minutes before dining because of pain and catching her breath. The cook came out to see what happened. That was it--no apology, no free meal, not even a lousy discount or complimentary dessert. They should have a sign at the entrance---EAT HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Awsome place to eat and relax. Great homemade food and desserts. Homemade pies and cinibuns. Have been there many times.

Great breakfast choices with large portions. Biscuits have to be cut into thirds since they are so large. Best sausage gravy, and this is coming from a southern boy raised in the deep south!
