Atlantic Oceanside Hotel & Event Center
Reviews

We stayed here for 2 nights in the main building in an ocean view room. The room was nice but the AC never cooled the room, we asked for them to look at it after the first night, but it was the same. Thankfully a cool ocean breeze kept it comfortable. Bed was okay but foam pillows were of poor quality. The free breakfast was good, and added to the value of the stay. The lounge is extremely small and had limited beer selections, but a few good local beers were offered. We liked the location, close to town and Acadia. We would stay here again if we are in the area but would bring a few feather pillows!

Not the best place but okay. Kind of reminded me of a motel, doors to enter your room are outside. Clean rooms but older looking. Bathrooms were a good sized but no counter at all. Also the shower doesn't really ever get hot. Crib fee was $10. Breakfast had lots of options and people were very friendly. Air conditioning was tricky to figure out to get a good temperature. Room did have a private balcony that looked over the ocean which was nice.

Let me first say, the photos uploaded to this are dated, because I just stayed here last week and the rooms looked nothing like the rooms shown in the pictures. The rooms were outstanding, which means they must have renovated them recently. I came to Bar Harbor searching for a cheapish place to stay and came across this, not expecting much. It exceeded expectations. I opened the door and saw an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean and a newly renovated room. The pools and hot tubs are very nice. The staff members are very friendly and the breakfast room and food was great! For the price of the hotel, I highly recommend this place!

Wifi sucked. No ocean view. Overpriced. Bed was very uncomfortable. Room smelled weird. Breakfast had not many options. On the bright side it's close to Acadia national park and close to bar harbor. It's an okay hotel, but if you can find something cheaper, that may be better.

We had a wonderful room with a beautiful view from the balcony. Unfortunately, it was cold and we had little time to sit outside. We arrived quite late and the person that met us was very kind and helpful. He assigned us a room but when we went to the room it was occupied so we needed to trek back to the main building to get a new room. Our keys did not work so finally the man at the desk walked over to our building only to discover that that room was also occupied. Third time was a charm and we sunk into a very comfortable bed with great pillows for a good night sleep. I used the pool and whirlpool each night that I stayed at the hotel and the pool water temperature was perfect. Breakfasts were absolutely fabulous with homemade blueberry muffins, banana bread and other homemade items as well as a hot egg dish (frittatta, quiches, etc) that offered a variety of ingredients. There was the usual complement of hot/cold cereals, fresh fruit, bagels, etc. Ward was an interesting person to talk to and we exchange recipe ideas and my husband discussed current events with him. While not much was open in Bar Harbor, we ate where the locals ate for dinner and enjoyed the quietness of the town before the rush of the summer season. I recommend others to enjoy the hotel and the attractions (mainly Acadia and the Cranberry Islands). You will not be disappointed.
