This is a great place to eat. The food is homemade and fresh. I have never had a bad meal. The bangers and mashed are delicious. The sandwiches are made with fresh meat not lunch meat. The drinks are great. Soup is the best. Great place.
Went around 11:30 on a Friday morning, found it to be quiet. Sat at the bar and had great service from the bartender behind it. Philly cheesesteak sandwich was ok, somewhat unremarkable. Had one beer on tap, which tasted fresh. Not a bad place to eat, but I was most impressed with the friendly service.

Awesome small town pub and hang out for locals. Occasional complaints from tourists about abrupt service but we like short and to the point in this town! Definitely a favorite!
After reading other reviews here I was skeptical. Tales of under age drinking and angry staff behavior seem to be an errant one night experience. (I read them again just now and all reviews were posted on the same date - two by same poster) However, I took a chance on this place and was glad I did. The menu is great. Nice selection of seafood, pub fare, and a few Irish dishes. It is priced well, and the food is consistently very good. I have been back twice because I am a new resident of Chestertown. The salad with fried oysters was delicious, as were the ribs. Best of all they serve Smithwicks! My favorite beer made by guinness, but lighter. I am sure the occasional college night does happen here, as this is a college town, but if you want to avoid the college kids then come for dinner or happy hour. Better yet - come during daylight and enjoy the open patio dining area.
