Tastee Diner

We eat here whenever we are in the area. The staff is wonderful (and we bring two small children when we go out, so that is saying something), the service is speedy, the food is like eating at grandma's house, and the decor is classic.
You better be drunk to enjoy this.
Went here on the Fourth of July for breakfast, and I was immediately impressed when my server was dressed like Uncle Sam. I quickly learned his name was Dave and his outfit was homemade. His blue shoes were covered in white star stickers, and when one fell off, he declared "they've seceded from the Union!" Very funny guy, and great, FAST service. I think my food was out in five minutes. The food was good. Old-fashioned and nothing revolutionary, but good. Better than fair prices. My omelet and coffee was $8. Everyone was friendly and clearly knew each other. I'd definitely eat here again.
This place is a old school diner you'd expect to find in a small town, but it's in Bethesda so it seems out of place. It's very old and with old things, very dirty. None of that small town charm you'd expect from a place like this. A good reflection on rude DC.
I just had breakfast here and our server was hilarious. What a sense of humor. He had a New York style quick wit. My eggs over easy felt homey and was served just fast.
