Beach Plum Inn & Restaurant
Reviews
Unfortunately it was cloudy and rainy when we traveled to Menemsha for the Beach Plum. However, it was light rain and it was still possible to enjoy the beautiful garden, swing, and view of the water, even though we could not see the sunset through the clouds. If you have clear weather I can only imagine how stunning and romantic the setting would be! The meal was fantastic. I had the grilled striped bass which was the daily special. It was thick and juicy and perfectly cooked. It was served over a sauce which I believe was pesto that had a delicious citrus taste (it was so good I literally scraped it off the plate with my fork after the fish was gone). I think I can honestly say it was the best fish I have ever had! The tomato risotto on the side was also great. Be sure to bring a bottle of wine, since Menemsha is a dry town. They will charge you a $8 uncorking fee. I should also note that the staff could not have been nicer. The only down-side is the price, it is quite expensive with entrees in the $30+ range. Our bill for a dinner for 2 with shared appetizer & shared dessert was something like $160 (food only, no liquor on this bill). But it is well worth it for the meal and overall experience.
