Awful service, decent food and good beer. The hostesses were so rude that we almost left when we first arrived. They insisted that there was no outside seating available, which is what we wanted given the beautiful weather. We were seated at the bar, which was fine, but after discussing the issue with the bartender, he went out of his way to help us out. If the he hadn't helped us out, I am certain we never would have actually gotten a table. I couldn't believe their rude attitude. They really ruined the whole experience there, it was completely unnecessary.
The pits! Service, terrible attitude, slow but blame it on the owner. JD Hamilton took over the place and seems to think it will make him a lot of money one their past history. He is wrong, it will not survive his care free attitude and lack of any attention. Food was fair but you leave the place like no one cares and take what you get.
It used to be a great place to go but over the last 2 years the quality has steadily declined while the prices have gone up. At my last visit, I stood there quietly awaiting a table at the nearly empty place while for 15 minutes (I timed it) the hostess talked on her cell phone on a personal call which was certainly not any sort of emergency. After being seated it took the waitress 30 minutes to take a drink order (actually it wasnt even her table. The waitress that had my table was out talking to the hostess). The beer menu does not list prices and theyve raised the prices to 5 dollars each. The beer on tap had also been watered down to about 1/3rd to 1/2 strength. The grouper and the mushroom fries are still excellent but burgers are mediocre and the chicken was just plain bad. The check was wrong and included items that I did not receive. There is also no longer a non smoking room. Officially it exists, but it is an enclosed and carpeted deck and under it is where the employees smoke so it filters into the room. Employees were also smoking in the bathroom
