Ruby Tuesday

I have liked RT in Effingham in the past however, this time was not so good. I ordered peach teach and did not get what I expected then, I had to wait quite a while before I got a refill (even after I requested one). I ordered onion rings as a side and they were almost cold and soggy -yuck. My mother-in-law ordered the shrimp fondue and the chips were stale. My husband ordered a side of potatoes and they were instant (if we pay good money to eat you can at least serve real potatoes!) By far the worst experience.
Usually a big fan of ruby Tuesday, this one was far below expectation. Went in with a group of 12 on a weekday afternoon at 3:30p (sat at multiple tables). At 4:20p, we still had not received our food. We finally did get it, but a member of our group's green beans had a plastic label in them. Label read "use first, Sunday". It was Monday. We requested the manager, and then waited another five minutes for him to come over. He finally did and comped the group member's dish and gave her a dessert. Waited another 15 minutes to finally get our checks, and when we did a group member's was run incorrectly and had to be handled by a manager- another 10 minute wait. Overall, extremely dissatisfying experience. Many other competing restaurants in the area- save yourself the hassle and choose another.
We look for Ruby Tuesday before making decisions about where to stay on trips. The freshly made guacamole is to die for...the best EVER. Love, love, love this restaurant chain! BTW: Coming back through Effingham on way to Indy again, and will stay overnight here just because of Ruby Tuesday.
My boyfriend and I ate here a few nights ago. It was late and we were traveling out of town. We didn't know where to eat so we just tried this place. We are vegans so eating out is not easy unless we can plan for it better. Well, we were pleasantly surprised by the service and food. Our server, Lee, was knowledgeable, friendly, honest and went above and beyond our expectations. When she didn't know an answer to our questions she offered to find out. The chef even came to talk to us to inform us of any animal products used in the menu items and offered ways to adapt the menu to fit our specific needs. The food was great and the entire staff was warm and welcoming. We ended up eating a nice salad from the salad bar, broccoli, green beans and a baked potato, made to order.
Great prices, good variety for both kids and adults. Service was great, our waiter was right on top of everything. Would highly recommend.
