Out in the middle of nowhere sits Charlies restaurant/marina. The crab stew is a must try. The shrimp poboy was also delicious. The co-worker had the bone in catfish which he said was great. We both left full and ready for a cat nap :-) Our dinner experience was quiet and peaceful overlooking the water.
I'm a local and I've been coming to this place since I was a child. It's probably the most affordable seafood restaurant in Glynn County and the food is always fresh and delicious. Service is generally good but occasionally can be laggy if it's busy. Great atmosphere too. Definitely worth trying.
We ate here on our way home to Florida from our cabin in North Carolina. Because were were traveling with our Chocolate Lab, we needed a dog-friendly place and one our 8-year-old son could stretch out. This proved a great fit because, though they didn't have true patio seating, the shared a patio on a dock with the marina and we were able to order take-out to eat outside but the gracious hostess and our waitress treated us as "eat in" guests with refills and all. Keep an eye out for gators!
Always love to go to Mud Cat Charlies. Like your hometown restaurant. Great service. I love their crab legs. Never had bad meal. Try their crab stew. FUN PLACE. The local gator may greet you. He likes the hush puppies.
The ambient is very casual and family oriented. With and excellent Service and Great Food. I love it. It feels like Family! The grouper Sandwich is out of this world.
