Six Feet Under Pub & Fish House
Reviews

LOVED the food- I am a shrimp lover by heart and their shrimp are SO fresh and GIGANTIC might I add - the wait times can be a bit long (that is just an ode to their popularity). The waiters/waitresses have always been SO friendly and personable as well as the hostesses. The upstairs outside eating area has a really nice view of the city that I love. This is always a good place for a meet up with friends or business associates. I am going to expand my tasting pallette and try so more items on the menu - I am a stickler for shrimp (no matter my place!) ambiance and service A+

Six Feet Under isn't far from where I work, so I've had the chance to sample the place a handful of times. That said, I'm allergic to shellfish, which is essentially a cardinal sin in the case of this pub. Because of the overwhelming amount of shellfish on the menu, if your sensitivity is high, I'd say avoid at all costs. The bulk of the menu is fried. Fried fish. Fried chicken. Fried shrimp. Fried vegetables (beans, okra, and more!) I've been told mixed things about whether they use a non-shellfish fryer in their cooking, so I avoid anything fried. This results in a rather limited, but not impossible selection of food. The salad portions are generous, with crisp romaine and bright, fresh veggies throughout. The chicken fajita soup is one of my favorite things on the menu, as well. The burger I sampled was only okay, as the Mexican inspired dishes are what truly shine here. Service is hit or miss, usually erring on the side of hit, and the beer and cocktail list is extensive in the best possible way. Overall, it's a great place. It's usually busy and the rooftop provides a Midtown view that is fantastic in the summer.

While in Atlanta for a day/evening trip, my wife and I decided to try something new for dinner and came across Six Feet Under on Yelp. The reviews seemed favorable enough so we made it the choice of the evening. Great little place, lots of character to it (although for some reason the crowd was a lot more subdued than we expected for a pub on a college football Saturday). The service was great, with our server coming to check on us often to make sure we didn't need anything. The food in our opinions was only mediocre though, even for patrons not expecting a whole heckuva lot for pub food. I ordered the Fish n' Chips, which was delicious; sadly though, the portions size was a bit surprising and disappointing for the cost - two mid-sized breaded/fried fish fillets, "compensated" by a huge helping of homemade potato chips (which were good, but the "Fish" in Fish n' Chips comes first for a reason...). I also ordered a cup of Chicken Fajita soup which turned out pretty good actually, to be quite honest - yay, a positive! My wife ordered the Chicken Tacos, and she was a bit disappointed that the taco predominantly consisted of a lot of lettuce and bits of corn, with very little chicken (think "movie popcorn" chicken) included. (When you think of bar/pub food, you don't think *huge, heaping helpings*, admittedly; but you don't think *spa-quality portions and makeup* either. I think hearty and gut-busting should fall somewhere in the offerings, and beds of lettuce and side veggies just don't cut it.) She also ordered gumbo which she ate and enjoyed but, again, nothing much more than mediocre. Finally with regards to the food, we were both pretty excited to know there were hush puppies on the menu and, in expected fashion, we ordered like a million of 'em. Aaaaand when they came out and we tasted them, we were guaranteed to have 999,997 left on the table. Wow. Really. Not. Good. The consistency of the inside of the pups reminded us of a soggy white bread, and they weren't really tasty nor really horrible - they were just bland, like a crunchy-on-the-outside, soggy-on-the-inside communion cracker. Bummer... As you can tell from a lot of my other reviews, I don't consider myself a "foodie" (read, someone who probably needs a term to describe an unhealthy fascination with eating), and my wife and I aren't food snobs and are probably a couple of the most easy-going restaurant patrons around. So my experience at Six Feet Under was as disappointing as described. Maybe they were having an off night, maybe the head cook took the night off to play hooky, I don't know; but I will say that considering the incredible number of restaurants around the Atlanta area, it'd be a surprise to me if we made it back here again. As always, though, take my comments and opinions with a grain of salt - you won't know if you'll personally like it or not until you try it. Best wishes for a great experience!

Six Feet Under is a good seafood spot. Patio is awesome but can get very crowded. There's ONES server/bartender that comes off as mean but he's really cool after you've been there a few times. Lol. I usually Catfish platter or the crab legs. Have not been let down yet.

I heard a lot of hype about this place so I was very excited to try it out with friends. 6 Feet Under atmosphere did not disappoint. Sat on the outside patio upstairs and they had plenty of great beers on draft. The shrimp that I got was not as good as I was expecting, but I would definitely go back and give it another chance for the atmosphere.
