Java Cafe

Hard to rate this place when closed for a private function on a Saturday. Not a good business practice to close entire shop. Hope they paid well.

Very nice place with great food. The coffee on the other hand is just OK and for a coffee shop that's a pretty important. Understand though that I've only tried the regular coffee not any of the fancy drinks. But for me a good cup of coffee is the most important thing for a coffee shop. The coffee is served in foam cups which alters the taste negatively, so its possible that is why I don't like the coffee. My biggest qualms are: 1, the to go cups are foam which ruin the taste of the coffee, paper is far superior. 2, they are only open for breakfast and lunch. If you want to have a cup of coffee after supper, too bad. 3, the atmosphere is too noisy. Instead of having nice comfortable chairs with dark muted colours like many coffee shops they have very bright colours with nothing but tables. For me as a place to get some good food fast the Java is great. But as a coffee shop, not so much.

I just wanted to say if you get a chance to eat here you will be glad you did. The food is always fresh and the taste is amazing. After moving I really miss not only the food but the people who frequent there as well. A big shout out to Jim, Julie and Tom. Keep up the good work and I hope you have many years of great success.
