Lake City Campground

I put 1 star because there is no way to put 0. We stayed a month due to necessity for our house closing and a work commitment. We were put on a lot behind the main park, down muddy, full of pot holes, dirt road. There were a few travel trailers there but they were permanent as they had tarps for roofs, clutter and trash around the sites, cars with 4 flats. Weekends were loud stereos and pot smoking abound. They have their own waste water treatment area and the smell....well we couldn't hold our breath long enough. The front of the park was not as bad, but muddy ruts everywhere. The laundry had four walls one with screened open windows and screen doors only that do not latch. It was so cold I had a long sleeve shirt, sweater and wind breaker on and froze. The doors were open all the time while the wind blew through. We will NEVER stay there again.

I have traveled around the world and I understand the difficulty of dealing with the public. I DO NOT understand how a property manager could be so delusional as to believe that in this day of instant media the public's opinion doesn't matter. As for this property, I will echo the opinion of others on this board. It has been a long time since I, as a paying customer, have been treated so rudely. The desk person, who identified herself as an owner, was just downright mean, not just in person but on the phone as well. Because check-in time was NO EARLIER than 4pm we did not have time to find another place to spend the night. I will also add that these folks padlock the pool at 7pm. My advice, there are many campgrounds in this area.....DRIVE PAST LAKE CITY CAMPGROUND.

This is a very nice campground... This has been my third stay here since attending the annual folk music festival. The park is very well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Been that way every time I have come up and is the reason I keep coming back. Yes, they have rules as ALL parks have, but if people would behave themselves, we wouldn't need rules. The office hours are a little funny, but they tell you that at the time your reservation is made. It doesn't stop you from getting to your site as all the information you need is posted on a board should you arrive between office hours. Nothing wrong with that as I've been other places that do the same thing.

Worst we have had. The lady behind the desk at check in was rude and condescending. We had a couple of friends from the local area that came to visit and she let me know they were not allowed to use our toilet facility in our own motor home because it was using her water. The water pressure was terrible so we just used our tank. The office was a pile of junk and the place looks nothing like the pictures on the internet. We will never recommned and will also tell Good Sam the same.

We stayed here almost a year ago and just now writing a review. We found the staff friendly and helpful, the grounds and facilities clean and cared for, and the atmosphere was peaceful. If we are again in Lake City we will stay here.
