One of the biggest disasters I've ever endured. - The place used to be packed... Now there are just a few tables seated. ... And after our dinner there, now I know why no one eats there. 1.) It took 1 1/2 hrs. to get our drinks. 2.) My reuben was tepid and consisted of greasy bread and 2-3 layers of corned beef. 3.) They ran out of french fries (I was the only one at the table to get a serving) 4.) They ran out of potato chips (they substituted nacho chips instead) 5.) They ran out of onion rings. 6.) Everyone who ordered hamburgersr received charred, crispy burgers. - Seriously, a hamburger shouldn't crunch when you bite into it. 7.) They ran out of potato skins 8.) Music was way too loud - forget trying to talk if you go. 9.) A full 2 hours before the food started trickling out - I should have waited for everyone else at the table but I was famished. - I finished my meal before the last person finally got hers. 10.) One guy asked for a pickle on his hamburger - they had run out pickles, too! On the plus side - we asked them to comp us the food considering the service and food was so dismal - so good for them for not charging us. With a performance this poor, there is no way this restaurant can stay open - I am certain within the next few months we will see them reopened under new management.
Excellent venue with every ability to succeed but our experience wasn't pleasant. Service was lackluster at best. Had to ask for a menu and repeatedly ask for another drink after staring at an empty one while sitting at the bar. Nachos and cheese was a saturated soggy disaster. Bartenders were not attentive to their patrons and very unprofessional and unwelcoming. 2 star was a generous review because the people I met there were great!
This is the best restaurant I have ever been to,their hospitality was great all the waitresses were pretty,funny,and kind.The food was amazing and lots of people that go their regularly that are about the nicest people I have ever met.If you get a chance to meet the owner john he is the nicest of them all so is his lovely wife.This is a place to stop by if your in town if you want nothing but pure excellence.
Food was really good , sever was not on track. No refill on my Absolute, I even had to ask another sever for the check.
As a traveling Chef and write,r its not that often one stumbles on to a real American classic and 5 star operation. I did not go to the Black cloud to write about it but to really eat. So i'm going to keep it sample. Its a gem
