My first big vacation in 4 years. Couldn't wait to get into town and eat some local food. Read the reviews and all seemed great. I get the female server with long cornrow braids and order. I then see her scratching inside her right ear, handling money left and right and never washed her hands. Minutes later she is digging frantic through the trash can piled high directly in front of me looking for a lost ticket. I then see her holding out her hands in disgust and I said " Ok for sure she's going to wash her hands now"??? No she walked over grabbed a white dirty cloth and proceeded to work. I was in shock and she said to a another female sever " hey can you grab his biscuit for me" (mine) as she continued to look for the ticket. I took 1 bite and asked for a to go box. That was the most unsanitary thing I have ever seen. The servers all are handling cash and food and no gloves or hand washing at all. The little old lady server I saw actually leaving the restroom cleaning her hands coming out, preparing to put on her apron to work. She brought me the to go box and I left. I have never left a bad review in my life!
was an OK place but closed Feb 2015 due poor health of owner re-open uncertain
Stopped into the big pine restaurant for breakfast on our way to key west. It was so good we made a point of stopping on our way home the next morning. Excellent service and food!
Great cafe con leche! Great food. We visited this morning and although it takes a little longer than your average place, it is well worth it.
Recently visited some friends on Big Pine Key. Ate breakfast here 3 times and lunch once. Everything was absolutely fantastic and the service was AAA !!!
