Tuxedo Junction
Reviews
I attended a DJ show last night at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury. I'm a frequent concert-goer and I probably attend over 50 musical events every year throughout the east coast, and I can honestly say that my experience at Tuxedo Junction was the worst that I have ever had. First off, the venue published that doors for the show would be opening at 8 PM. Instead, they didn't begin letting people into the venue until almost 9, leaving everyone in a massive line outside in below-freezing weather. Our tickets were not even scanned when we entered, making me question how the venue can even keep track of how many tickets they sell and how many people are inside their location. Once inside, it became obvious that Tuxedo Junction had blatantly oversold their capacity. I've never felt so uneasy and unwelcome in a crowd of people at a music venue before. The crowd was extraordinarily young, aggressive, and incredibly irresponsible. We were packed so heavily into such a small area that we could barely move. I cannot say I have ever seen so many young kids - middle and high school age - on so many heavy drugs, on a MONDAY night. We ended up leaving almost two hours early because the entire experience left us feeling so miserable. What should have been a fun show with great music turned out to be awful and a complete waste of money. I will never attend another show here and I will be telling everyone I know to avoid it in the future. TL;DR: Tuxedo Junction needs to impose an 18+ age limit and/or sell less tickets with heightened security. I will be surprised if this venue is still open in 6 months. DO NOT spend money or attend shows at this venue, it's simply not worth it.
Peter Gama makes 2 ives street a great and light atmosphere to come into most any night of the week.
