This restaurant to me is so hit or miss when it comes to the quality of there food. Last time I was there the Food was Great, service was ok, and price well that is a whole different thing, But the time before that the food was just okay. The price on certain items at this restaurant are a little high, the mexican food which is just ok mexican food comparing it to other mexican restaurants in Monte Vista is way overpriced but other items seem to be more on par with other restaurants.

Thanks to our wonderful server, Cindy, and the great folks at Mountain View for a fantastic dinner experience! My beau and I stopped in during an unexpected stay in Monte Vista over a busy July 4th weekend. Cindy was kind, helpful and got us started right away. My margarita (which was a nice big size) was perfect. We ordered the rib appetizer to get us started and that was a great choice! Evidently they smoke their meats right on-site. Needless to say, they were to die for. We both ordered sirloins as our entree. I couldn't stop talking about how tender and delicious it was, and we eat steak quite a bit. I probably talked about the green beans even more--yes, the green beans! The plates were delicious and came out super fast. We even almost ordered another rib basket! To top it off, they were giving everyone fresh chocolate chip cookies for no extra charge. What a great little place! They were on top of their customer service and their food was superior. Next time you're in Monte Vista, please go!

I have eaten here numerous times and it has been good. But this most recent time was the worst it has ever been. For starters, no longer will they put ice in the water because the water is cold enough it doesn't need ice. I find this hard to believe, that someone would do that. The poor server was embarrassed to tell us this new rule. The steak was overcooked. Ran out of baked potatoes and we weren't notified until our meal was ready. SO when we got our substitution of fries, we were already done with our meal. I am highly disappointed in the management, and I feel completely awful for the servers who have to explain all the new "rules" that are completely ridiculous.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is the best restaurant in town. The food is not that good, especially for the price. The Mexican food is terrible. The management is rude. I would rather eat anywhere else in Monte Vista than here.

The burgers are excellent but the staff is less than stellar. They were cleaning with harsh chemicals right next to us and were sweeping and mopping right under us while we were eating. We got the feeling that we weren't wanted.
