Garfield's Restaurant & Pub

We had a party of 8 for dinner. The calamari was delicious and came within a reasonable time as did our food. Unfortunately, the soup tasted like they had dumped a pound of salt in it and we were unable to finish it. The lettuce was rusted and not very appetizing. Our dinner was not bad with the exception of most of the plate being covered with baby carrots. Two of the party ordered bar drinks and when asked for another they were never brought out but we later observed that they were added to the tab. Last of all, this restaurant automatically adds 20% gratuity to the bill no matter the party size, which is against the law in the state of Colorado, so beware of your final bill!
We have eaten at Garfield's for the last 30 years for dinner. We tried breakfast yesterday and must say it was a miserable experience. There was only one other couple there and should have left right then, but we ordered. The waitress could not explain how half-orders were priced and did not offer to find out. She could not explain how the food was prepared. The omelets were tough as well as the pancakes. This shows a very poor cook. The biscuits were raw in the middle, again poor cook. The waitress rarely came back and it was not due to being busy. We will not be returning.
My wife and I had reservations on Feb 14, 2010. We arrived and were seated promptly at a table in the dining room. Just after our drinks had arrived both tables on either side finished their meals and left. Our server came to us and asked if we would be willing to move in order to accommodate a larger party in which we agreed. After moving, we apparently switched servers as well since it took about 15 minutes for them to come and introduce themselves. We ordered our dinners and an order of calamari as an appetizer. It took one hour on the nose for our calamari to arrive and an hour longer for our dinners. The total experience took almost three hours. Our drinks were never full and our dinner came out cold. I understand it was Valentine's Day but this was ridiculous. Oh, and by the way, the large party that we moved tables for was able to eat and leave before our main entree arrived.
We had reservations for 4 on Feb 10, 2012. We were seated promptly. But appetizers and drinks arrived an hour later, The restraunt was not busy and when our dinner finally arrived well over 2 hrs since we had ordered. The steaks came out burnt and cold, the loster was like eating a rubber band. My husband ate shrimp pasta and became very sick later that night. The manager knew how unhappy we were, but did nothing to make the situation right. It was the worst 3 hours and $260 ever spent, Would rather have ate at McDonalds.
