The tastes are hybrid, far from authentic. Ambiance is ok. We paid $ 125 for 5 people, including 5 entrees, appetisers and qahva in the end, so mid on pricing. If you are coming for a change, recommended- if you are looking for authentic Afghan taste, not recommended.

If you want to experience just how good cubes of meat with a few simple seasonings can taste then get yourself to Amir's Kabob House. The food is authentic Afghani cuisine and the diversity and intensity of flavors is very impressive. Especially since they are usually not relying on complex sauces like French, Italian, or Southeast Asian cuisines. The roasted butternut squash rounds are incredible and in fact the entire vegetarian menu is tasty enough that I wouldn't feel like I had been cheated if I ate only from it. However, the beef and especially the lamb kabobs are so tender, juicy, well seasoned, and well cooked that it is almost impossible for me to avoid ordering them any time I sit down here. This is really a great place and everyone on the Monterey Peninsula should visit at least once. Most of those who do will be back for more!

The vegetarian meals here are Amazing!!! All of the meats are halal and delicious. The hookah is okay. The service is friendly and sincere. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.
