It was my favorite coffee shop in town. I used to stop here most mornings before work. It is still my daily coffee shop, but more for running into friends. I drink straight espresso, so I know if the folks making it understand the concept of crema. Unfortunately, there is no longer any one working there that does. There is a desperate need for some staff training. Teaching them to be espresso literate as well. Simple things like there is no X pronounced in the word espresso. And more complicated things like there should only be a small amount of water under the crema, not 6+ ounces. At least they are fun and friendly.
Java Hut Rocks. The owner carefully sources beans and takes pride in her business. My hairdresser Michelle Seeley at Bella Vita told me about it and now I go every time I am in Kings Beach. Love it.
Decent food when I needed on my road trip.
The staff was nice and they sure so know how to make a latte. It was also cozy and clean . Seemed like a local hang out which made the atmosphere more welcoming. Loved it!
