We've been to most of the Swami's in San Diego - This was a surprise seeing one open on Grand Ave - as Escondido has really needed some change of food types. Food is great, beers on tap are plentiful, but the service was really slow. If your looking for a fast meal, not the place, but if your looking for wonderful tasting, great ambience - Swami's is for you.

We went to swamis on a Sunday evening. The shrimp street tacos were filled with large onion rectangles and a couple bits of shrimp. The salmon wraps were actually pretty good. We ordered the black sea bass and the house burger. The asparagus seriously tasted like it went bad and came out of a store with the refrigeration broken. The black sea bass was so-so but not worth the price. My burger had a burnt egg on top and was overcooked even though I ordered med-rare. Then came the fries. It tasted like the fries were marinating in grease for days. Not one crispy frie on my plate, just soggy and cold. We complained about both problems and the hostess came up to us with a bowl full of salad, eating and asking us if there was a problem. I told her to put down her food when she was talking to me and she stormed off. Finally the manager came to us. We told him the problems and he offered to take off the burger meal, of course the cheaper plate, but he left the sea bass meal on. He offered us a free desert but why would I want more crappy food. He gave us a $25 gift card, why would I even want to go back there if they cant even cook French fries? I wish there was an option for 0 stars.

I'm so excited to have Swami's in Escondido. We've had an influx of new restaurants and this is the cherry on top. Breakfast was awesome, I had the Granola Waffle it was perfect. My guest had the Veggie hash equal perfection. I can't wait to try lunch, Dinner and Smoothies! See photos

My wife and I Had a drink at the bar and had a great time...Very good prices...Good location, lots of parking, an upper end crowd for sure. Not a dive. Good place to hang out and relax with out load over bearing music.. Hanz and Ingrid.

Great food!
