Bellamy's Restaurant
Reviews
LOVE this restaurant. The staff is amazing. The servers anticipate every need. The owner is a GEM. The atmosphere of the restaurant is intimate yet sophisticated. The food is marvelous; sincere and unique. Bellamy's master chef (only 2 in all of San Diego) is a gastronomic genius. Bellamy's is our favorite restaurant in all of San Diego. I highly recommend it.
Hosted a Christmas luncheon for large group. Planning of the event went very smoothly and the Chef and Staff worked out a menu to fit within our budget. The food was delicious, service was excellent and would recommend Bellamy's to anyone hosting a party!
Highly disappointed because of service. Not sure if this person was the owner, but she copped major attitude when we requested a certain wine. Food was mediocre. Would not be back.
Dinner was excellent, as always. The chocolate Bisou is amazing. We've been there multiple times and we've never had a bad meal. My husband, just lets the Chef, Patrick, cook him a meal--never disappointing.
Bellamy's is startlingly good: this is solidly in the "Michelin Star" level of quality, far from the traditional centers of fine dining in the US (and even far from the traditional fine dining in SD county). Nestled between a barber and a sporting goods store, it's hard to believe the experience that awaits. But take it from someone that loves dining: head to Bellamy's, order the tasting, grant the sommelier and the mixologist (his word, not mine) carte blanche, and have a real experience, not just a meal. This is food as art and as an activity: go with someone special and plan to take some time with it. Particular standouts for us: the beet terrine amuse bouche was magnificent (surprising, playful, beautifully plated, and far more than the sum of its parts), only outshone by the magnificent mushroom ravioli in port sauce (my mouth still waters at the memory of that). Few chefs can so elegantly focus on all aspects of the meal from vegetables to meats to dessert, but Chef Patrick nails it.
