It is the best Mexican Restaurant anywhere. We eat there at least twice a week. The staff is friendly and the food is top notch, The prices are reasonable, too.

Not a huge fan of Mexican food but I spent a weekend in SV and ate here with a group of people and it was a great experience. The food was good and we all had a good time. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere inside the restaurant.

It was good before the fire, but since re-opening it's not as good. The service was slow and the food wasn't anything special. It's also very overpriced: costs as much as a 4-star restaurant but tastes like a 2-star. Go to La Casita's instead--it costs about the same, but the food is way better.

I went into Ricardo's to get some refried beans "to go." Since I'm a Chef myself, I know from past experience that in order to get a good indication of how good a Mexican restaurant's food generally is---order some refried beans. The quality of that one item is usually an indication of how good or bad the food generally is. I can tell you that they were excellent! Great flavor and not salty at all, and a generous quantity for the price. I was waited on promptly without any excessive waiting time. Now, I can go back and order dinner, inside or "to go," without guessing as to what to expect in the way of quality food. Not only that, but every time I pass by going home during "dinner time," the place is always packed during the weekdays and on weekends.
