I arrived here at about 11PM last night after traveling 7 hours with my college team. I called yesterday to confirm my reservations and was told they were confirmed. When I arrived, clearly exhausted and with 23 people on tow I had to wait 15 minutes while they told me I only had one room, before finally fixing the problem. I checked our group into 8 nonsmoking rooms. We went upstairs and everyone got into their rooms fine except my last group of athletes who were assuaged by the smell of smoke from their room. Although the room was listed as nonsmoking, this CLEARLY had been a room that was smoked in frequently. I put the group into my room, and called the front desk and told them about the situation. The manager's response was "we're completely booked for the night." I told him that it was completely unacceptable to put college athletes in a room that had been smoked in. I asked him to meet me at the room so he could smell it. I waited for fifteen minutes and he never came up. I went down to see what the trouble was and he was standing at the desk with the rest of his employees. He was SO RUDE, offered no comp plan, and told me I was stuck with the smoking room. NCAA rules prohibit the use of tobacco products, and at my game today I can safely say that I will smell like a smokestack. I will have recruits there too, thinking their new coach is the poster woman for Menthols. The room was so bad that I never acclimated to the smell. I will NEVER return to this hotel, though I come to the area once a year. After this experience, I will be sticking with Marriotts.
My husband and I stayed one night on our way to Gatlinburg, TN. This hotel was wonderful with great service. The employees were all so nice and helpful. Wifi was fine for me with my laptop. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent. Friendly staff. Quality throughout. Good location. Only drawback; WiFi connection is too slow.
INTERNET AVERAGE SPEED = 46.6 kb/s !!! Not even dial up speed (56 kb/s) !! Personally could not stand how slow it was so I switched hotels. Other than the internet, its a really great hotel. Oh and breakfast is not free.
I wish Google had the option to rank this business for "HORRIBLE and would NEVER go back to this place" because that is the option I would choose! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE...EVER! The General Manger, named Joe, was not only THE RUDEST man I have ever met in my life but was the main source of the problem and the worst part was when I witnessed him bend over backwards for the woman who obviously had a better status of me and how I hate to say this but she was the opposite race as Joe so I just wished my experience was like it was when I stayed at the Hampton Inn but I know I will never have to have this experience again. I do not believe the situation should be broadcasted over the internet because I feel that hilton would relieve Joe of his duties but the fact is that it was so bad that I am writing this review so take it for what it is worth but if you do not want to go through what I did then literally drive two more seconds and go to Hampton Inn! I just hope Hilton's Corporate office does something about this and reads the documentation I sent to them in order to make sure Joe does not mistreat PAYING customers ever again like he did with me!
