Lunch yesterday front of house staff were very good, we settled on the mediterranean platter for two. Were surprised when we received 7 crackers and one slice of bread toasted and quartered. So used to having lovely ciabbatta or turkish bread with something like this. The smoked salmon and king fish was dry and cheawy, the plus was the pate was great.
Not bad food. But not outstanding either. Good safe place to take family or colleagues. Service was OK but had to go and find someone for a second beer. Over all an OK experience but most likely won't blow you away.

Great fantastic the best food no faulting it
Ate at Onyx tonight with a large group (20) for a family birthday, we had the upstairs function room. Overall it was a decent experience, but it was marred by a waiter with a poor attitude and attention to detail. He messed up two of the orders (wrong dish, wrong meat cooking preference) and was brusque and uninterested when the errors were pointed out, no apology was offered at all. The food itself (other than the over cooked steak resulting from the waiters error) was all delicious and well-cooked. The restaurant was chokingly hot and apparently unable to be cooled down via the aircon system. They eventually opened the small windows at the back of the function room, which lowered the temperature to a bearable but still overly warm level. We've eaten here before and will definitely return, but there is certainly a lot of room for improvement in their customer service.
