We spent 3 hours in this store today (1st visit) looking specifically for a 2/3 seater couch with chaise longue or corner. We liked the (new) Nockeby 2-seat sofa with chaise longue all 3 colour options of which were displayed on the Showroom floor. When we finally got through the crowds and into the Market Hall to collect and pay for the piece we were told by a very polite young man that the frame for this piece was not in stock for any colour, he could give us no indication when it might be available, we could not pre-order and then he suggested we try after Christmas!! I said we would buy the Teno dark grey floor model we wanted but he said he could not sell it to us. I then told him that it was plain wrong and deceptive to customers to present all these Showroom models for sale when in fact they could not be purchased. We travelled from Limerick for this purchase and are very disappointed at this shoddy treatment of potential customers. Hugh and Mags Flood
we went to IKEA to buy a big desk for an office, and enjoyed everything along the way.the whole sight seeing is definitely worth it if your going the first time.It has an amazing food service and a soft drink re-fill option, also at the exit there was lots of cheap desserts. We did get lost though in that big store.
IKEA DELIVERY If there is anyway to avoid it, do not use the delivery service we had a terrible experience. Our house is located 15 minutes away from the store, we ordered on the Saturday day and were told same day delivery we cancelled our plans stayed in all day and night only to be rang at 10pm to say the delivery would not be made, its now Monday we were told between 1.30 and 2.30 we have still not received the delivery and get fobbed off every time we call, I'll get someone to call you back etc.... we have still yet to receive a call back. 75 Euro to be given the run around, we could have walked the furniture back quicker!
Disappointing customer service overall. For larger items which cannot fit in the car, we had them delivered. The first set of delivery men were unhelpful and grumpy and on the second delivery they were actually very aggressive and ignorant. I'm totally shocked at how bad the customer service is in Ikea Dublin. Some staff were great but some were awful. We were given incorrect items and some items were left out of our order. This resulted in us having to go back to Ikea twice because of their lack of care and attention. That's very frustrating! Only to be told that we simply have to queue all over again for the items which we had originally picked out.
This afternoon, among other things I bought a bed at Ikea and asked for assistance to load it. The assistance was ordered by the cashier and she told to wait at the lift in the car park. After waiting a considerable time I brought the stuff to my car but was unable to load all of it. I am 73.I requested assistance of a couple of male staff members who passed but to no avail. Eventually a young male customer helped me to load. I informed the cashier with whom I had dealt. Poor form. The young lady I met in the bedding Dept was excellent.
