Cafe Azteca

My favourite Mexican place in Dublin. Friendly staff and good wholesome food
Authentic gets bandied about a lot, especially with Mexican dishes, but Chef Hugo is banging out mexican street food in Dublin exactly the way he learned to go it back home. Real Guacamole, everything well spiced relying on a few simple ingredients, and made with passion for produce. The place is small and super-comfortable, and the decor more than happy to tip it's hat to the home land with a few cactuses and parrots. Big shout out to the Mexican cooking classes that they hold here on request – fun for a team building evening or party.
Totally awesome! It's hard to keep a secret....but Azteca appears to be Dublins best kept secret! It's by far the best authentic mexican food in town. I've been to the other so-called mexican joints, but to be honest, they just don't cut it. 777 is cool, but it's not mexican. The food served up at Azteca is amazing, freshly made and fantastic! The enchiladas were the best I've had anywhere. Their mole is to die for....and their modesty - when I was licking my lips, almost crying with delight and praising the mole to the owner - he camly nodded his head and said 'I know, it's beautiful isn't it!' I'm additced to this place!
A great little authentic Mexican right in the city centre. Fairly priced and staffed with some very friendly people. The Rio Grande burrito is simply fantastic.
I'm from the US, and live in Italy. I've found that decent Mexican food is very hard to get in Europe, so I was really pleased when I stumbled upon this place on a brief vacation to Dublin. The food was really good, and the guy who runs the restaurant is quite friendly. Highly recommended!
