I recently moved to Lausanne. In the move the movers slightly damaged my bike's gears such that I was not able to engage 3rd, so I took it to Tandem. After inspecting the bike Tandem suggested a full service for chf 60 which they said would cover the gear problem (as it seemed to be quite a minor issue). After several weeks at sea in a container the bike was also quite dusty and dirty. When I collected the bike, the 3rd gear worked fine but I found it strange that the bike was still dirty. Usually after a service you get it back clean. But that was not what aroused my curiosity. As the bike was so dusty, there should have been some hand / finger marks or other indication of where the bike had been touched. There was none, indicating a 'very light' full service. When I went for my first proper ride, the brakes made an awful noise (which they didn't before the move). I called Tandem and asked them if the service included a check of the brakes, they said yes and asked me to bring it back the next day and they would redress the oversight free of charge. The next day I explained to the sales assistant the background to my return visit. She informed me that in the worst case they would replace the brake rubber for chf 10. I asked her to call me first if that were the case I.e. I wanted to know how much any additional costs would be before committing to them. I did not receive any calls but when I returned to collect my bike I was charged chf 40 for the replacement of all 4 brake rubbers. Tandem explained that whilst the olds ones were not very used, they had perhaps absorbed some humidity in the move which may have been the cause of the noise. So my chf 60 full service (which was perhaps more than required for the gear issue) cost me chf 100 in the end, more than one trip to the bike shop (my time has value too) and a suspiciously dusty 'light' full service. You be the judge.

I go to Lausanne for a couple of days a month, and Tandem Sports is one of my fixed spots to visit. Jones and Pierre are fantastic and very professional in their knowledge and practice of sports and, though very serious about their business, manage to always keep a smile on their faces. Their joie de vivre is contagious, and makes me want to go there for all my sports needs, again and again!

Ils proposent aussi plein de nouveautés, de bonnes marques, d'articles spécialisés et de qualité, et des conseils fins: tout cela associé à la bonne humeur et à l'énergie du tandem Jo et Pierre!!! Je recommande Tandem de tout coeur à chaque sportif.
