Love this little cafe. Very intimate. Friendly staff. Excellent food!
I have to say they have the best coffee in Ottawa. It has a velvet nature to the expresso bean they use... or something. The person who complained about the soup and sandwich. Yes it is more pricier than Tim Horton's but the food is simply excellent and offers a fresh, healthy soup, salad, sandwich combo. My wife and I come here one every couple of weeks to eat and it really is the best.
I actually really like this place. I go a couple times a week to get an adjustment at Chiromax which brings me pretty close to French Cafe, nice excuse! I find the staff there to be friendly, and they have a great variety of stuff. Yes, some stuff is over priced, and some are more reasonable but I find that the portions are decent too... the only thing personally I don't like there are the smoothies, and I do elsewhere but everything else I have had there is great and presented well. Patrick's experience I think was a one off.
I've been to the French Cafe on two seperate occassions. Once in the summer on the outdoor patio and once last week inside near the fireplace. The service is great. You order at the cash and receive your order within a few minutes. This is a great place to meet friends in a relaxing atmosphere. The tables are very clean and the decor is elegant. The food and drinks are delicious and unique.
