Who wouldn't love a place as serene as Docs. Great food, amazing view, awesome beer.
This place is not where google map shows the location. It is further east toward the ferrie dock. Fiancee enjoyed her fish and chips. I had the halibut version, didn't care for it. Ample seating inside and outside on either floor. Didn't try any other items on the menu but they have quite a few. Worth going back again to try sometjing else.
Went to Doc Morgan's with a group of five on a long weekend Sunday evening. Heard complaints from other people there that they had waiting a long time for service (I only saw two waitresses), but our service was timely. I had the salmon pot pie which wasn't very good. The fish was overcooked (lost its softness), there was a lot of oil on top, and I didn't realize it wouldn't have a pastry crust (my fault for not reading the menu more closely). Someone else had the ribs and liked them, but I thought the taste was off. The BBQ sauce wasn't very good. The winner was the fish and chips. The breading on the fish was almost soft, but still crispy. It wasn't hard or really greasy like other fish and chips I've had. Pretty good (although the fish wasn't seasoned and didn't have much taste). $18/person plus tip and drinks.
My wife and I stopped for fish and chips while waiting for the ferry after a hike around Killarney Lake. The meal was excellent as was the Heffeweizen. A bit pricey for what we got, and the waitress did mix up the price of our order but we straightened it out without issue. The "fish" part of the fish and chips was certainly memorable, as the batter was some of the lightest I've had and the home made tartar sauce complimented it nicely. I would certainly go again if/when we visit again.
I missed the ferry, was alone with 5 kids. We were all under-dressed for the weather. They made us wait 1 hour before we could be seated, even though the place was almost empty, and then another hour before we could eat. The waitresses were running around in a state of panic. They mixed up our orders. I had to ask 4 times before my daughter's friend got her glass of water. Food was "okay" although I think that has to be qualified by the fact that we were all literally starving. All in it cost me $112 for a mediocre, meal with lousy service. If I could rate it lower than "poor" I would.
