Bowen Island Pub
Reviews
After a long day of hiking, my friends and I wanted to go somewhere comfortable and get stuffed so to speak. Decor: 5/5 Definitely no complaints, great views Food: 3/5 Fish and chips were decent, nothing outstanding, but the onion rings were more like salt rings. Service: 2/5 Where to start! Not only did we have to wait around 6 minutes for the waitress to finish talking to her friends before we got our menus, but it just got worse from there. Two of our orders were incorrect and while she offered to fix them, we were too hungry by that point to bother. My appetizer was brought at the same time as the meal - what's the point of that? She never offered to refill our drinks either. Overall, I would look for somewhere else next time I go to Bowen Island, but as far as pubs go this one wasn't horrible.
Great alternative to the government-sanctioned BCLCB outlet in the General Store. Paul Rickett, general manager, is extremely knowledgable about wine, and is a great source of information about viniculture and Island life in general.
This locals Pub on Bowen Island has both the charm and character you expect to find from a small island pub...great pub food and friendly service. There is a free pool table and live music most Saturday nights.Great views of Snug Cove too!
Fabulous coffee fair trade and organic! Also 80 different teas. A real treat to go there.
