O'shea's Eatery & Ale House
Reviews

We had the misfortune to stop by O'Sheas in Drumheller in the early evening on July 19, 2014. My husband and I each ordered a glass of wine and we wanted just appetizers. I opted for the Calamari (my favorite appetizer) and my husband had the Thai Shrimp. He said his shrimp weren't too bad but I tried 3 little rings of the calamari and it was so salty, it was inedible! My husband tried a ring as well and agreed. Our Server came over to see how things were and I told her that the calamari was totally inedible because the salt was overpowering. She asked if I would like to have them remake it and I said, no thanks, because I'm sure it was in the coating and I assumed that wouldn't change. Instead, I ordered the Bruschetta (another favorite of mine). It arrived and looked divine. The bread was fresh and warm. I spooned the tomato mixture on one slice of the bread and thought it tasted great. Then I spooned the mixture on the second slice and ate that and then it hit me.......my mouth started burning and my eyes were watering. I thought what would be making it so hot. Our Server came by again and I asked why it was so spicy and she said it had jalapeno in it! I asked why it would have jalapeno in it and she said she's had it at other places and it was always spicy. I told her that I was much older than her and had eaten much more Bruschetta than she ever had and I had never had anyone serve it with jalapeno! Ever! I told them to look up all the recipes on the internet. I was not happy and I left with an empty stomach. :( We won't go back.

Seated quickly. Good service all throughout the meal. Food was pretty good and they had a fair assortment of beverages on tap. Would certainly go again.

Service was extremely poor from start. Waited to be seated but a server did not come and help us until a man came to pay his bill and then told server to help us first, she asked us where we wanted to sit - after we said patio she pointed to the door. When we got to our seat we had to wait and wait for service, I would estimate almost 15 minutes for drink order and the server was obviously miserable about being at work. Mind you this entire time there is all of 4-5 tables in the entire restaurant. After some time we got appies, the server didnt remove any dirty dishes from the tables so we put on an empty one next to us, when we were eating our food the server decided to sweep the patio all around us which kicked up dirt. Over all it was a really bad experience customer service wise - not what you would expect in a tourism town - will never go to another O'sheas after that.

Went here in the mid afternoon for a late lunch. It was pretty quiet and they had what I presume was the manager serving both the pub and the restaurant, where we were. A bunch of people came in around the same time so service was a little slow to start, but then a server came on to share the load and everything was fine after that. The beer selection is nothing special for a pub. The "Dark Horse" house beer is an amber ale, similar to Big Rock Trad. We all agreed our food was fine, but nothing special. I'll be back next time I'm in Drumheller, as this pub is still a cut above other dining in the area.

The dining room was very busy so I chose to eat in the pub. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The price was reasonable for a pub and the food was all very well prepared. Service however could have been better as the waitresses were not attentive--they were however, very friendly.
