2nd November 2014 We went for a nice drive from Brisbane, ending at St Bernards restaurant for a well earned lunch. The menu was full of "expensive options". Choosing the battered fish and chips, I was sadly disappointed. ~$25 for fish and chips!!!!! The meal was served quite quickly-probably the cause of the problem. Read on..... 3 decent sized pieces of fish, crusted with golden crisp batter; served with chips and salad. Very impressive on first sighting. On first bite of the fish, I thought the batter was a bit doughy to the taste and the fish was ordinary. Moving to the next fish piece, it was just as dull, but I continued, considering the expensive nature of the dish. Then the killer blow! Piece 3 was disgusting. Crisp batter on the outside-UNCOOKED and still runny dough on the inside (just like glue!) - The fish was half cooked/half nearly raw! YUK! The waiter didn't show much empathy when I complained, so here I lodge my protest to the world! It is probably the result of cooking frozen/battered fish into boiling oil; cooked on the outside-RAW in the inside. Such a pity- Not going back!

Beautiful views and manicured gardens!! Lovely meals and the service was great! The St Bernard dogs, Leo and Molly were so gorgeous. Roaming the grounds and welcoming guests. So cool!!

Great location and view but a little rundown and in need of a makeover. Service was slow with a 45 minute wait on lunch. The reef fish and chips looked great but was letdown by a rubbery piece of fish and another that was only passable, the batter was the best part and the tartare sauce was watery and bland. The petite eye fillet was average and the red wine jus was tasty. Overall somewhat disappointing especially considering the prices.

the place smells like a grand parents house but to be expected to some degree. Food looked good on other tables but ours came out burnt but a good size dish. the view is best aspect of the place. I wouldn't rush back.
