Best pub in town!

My partner and I stayed here for one night. We called in advance, but somehow only managed to get one towel in our room. We assumed that we would at least have a clean bed with reasonably clean shared bathroom facilities. The room was air conditioned, bed clean and it had a small tele. However the bathrooms, both male and female, were of an appauling hygenic state. There was a used razor on the floor of the women's shower, empty shampoo bottles in both bathrooms and it was generally filthy. Our night got worse from 10:30pm which was a little unexpected considering the displayed house rules clearly stated there be no noise or visitors after 10pm. We were awoken by a group of teenagers/young adults who were playing music, bumping into the wall, giggling and yelling, constantly opening and closing doors loudly and they generally displayed flagrant disregard for other patrons especially those needing a good nights rest after and before a day of travel. We alerted the manager about the noise, and he was prompt in asking them to quieten down (about 11pm). But the group got noisy yet again. My partner knocked fervently on their door and they were again quiet for a while (12:30am), but then, yes you guested it, it started again. Ridiculous. At this stage it was 2am. I tried calling the hotel number from my mobile, but had no reply. My partner and I used cotton wool to stuff in our ears and eventually we got about 3 hours sleep. We can estimate that they stopped making a rukkas at about 4:30-5am. At 9:30am we had a young European backpacker knock on our door to tell us to leave before 10 is we were not staying another night. He was rude and abrupt. We definitely had no intention of staying another night here, even though we needed to stay in Roma to sit out some flooding at Longreach and Barcaldine. If this place has a backpacker reputation, then the price needs to be drastically lowered to match it. $30 bucks a night maximum for a room is my suggestion and they should look at getting a cleaner who can clean the bathrooms. Overall, the worst travelling accommodation experience we have had. Avoid this joint!

We called into this hotel after a leisurely walk around Roma. The beer was cold, service was friendly & prices were good (especially compared to other establishments in Roma)
